Version 0.8.4.2 has been released!


Hello guys! Here's another big update for Masters of Raana. 

0842's highlights include two new quests, a BEAUTY/CHARISMA overhaul for the MC (Main Character), a new weapon and two story NPCs.

It also marks the completion of the wardrobe archive for random NPCs (with over 400 additional renders), much thanks to Grimdark Studios' newest member Marinko, whom I've been able to hire thanks to your support. 

Marinko's next big tasks are overhauling some of the old story NPC's wardrobes and adding a completely new clothing item for all female NPCs.

Gameplay changes

  • [NPC] Wearing formal clothes (loin, wrap, eden or templin) will now increase a Tavern Performer's base skill with +5 points.
  • [NPC] Beauty and Charisma mods from clothes and other accessories will now increase an NPC's sell price at the auction houses in Crystal Hills and Watery Eyes.
  • [NPC] Abhorred or worse NPCs will now lower Household Contentment (-1 point per day, chance 66%) if their Happiness is below 70 and if they're not jailed/bonded.
  • [NPC] Armand now starts with 40 Prestige.
  • [NPC] Loden can no longer start the game with the Daddy issues Trait.
  • [NPC] Added Stacey McClung's Hopes and Dreams.
  • [NPC] You can no longer exceed 100 Corruption by using Elixir of Lesano.
  • [NPC] Added a Taint cap for Elixir of Lesano to block NPCs from becoming prowlers if spamming them with multiple elixirs.
  • [NPC] NPCs with very high Defiance will now lose Defiance quicker (additional drops at 10 (-1) and 20 (-1) ).
  • [NPC] Doubled the chance for Educators to increase their pupils' Corruption (33%/day, was 16%/day).
  • [NPC] The Black Scorpion can no longer start with the Secretive Trait.
  • [NPC] Decreased the Corruption effect from taking Lesano elixirs to +30 (was +60).
  • [FACTIONS] You can now only donate a minimum of $100k to The Republic.
  • [FACTIONS] Renamed "Marston Fort" to "Fort Sera" in the Business Economy pane.
  • [DEBUG] Added a HEALTH controller to the debug Menu (NPCs).
  • [QUEST] Made the journal entry for the continuation of The Last Relative less confusing, suggesting that you should seek up Stacey after a couple of days.
  • [MARKET] Added Tobacco as a tradable/sellable resource.
  • [MARKET] The Healing ointment at The General Store can now only be purchased in batches of 20. The price has also been *drastically* reduced.
  • [WORLD] Added a location text and location scene for Zapin Fields (Investigate Area).

Combat modifiers

You can now easily view an NPC's active combat penalties/bonuses in the Stats & Traits section (last page).

New Redhaven combat map

You're now able to fight The Redhaven Tigers and other raiders on a brand new combat map with day/night versions.

New operation at Doctor's Hall

The MC is now able to increase his genital size at Doctor's Hall (Crystal Heights).

New immersion event texts

NPC's that have very low Health (<10) will now display different texts and dialogues based on their WILLPOWER.

Hunting respawn changes

Ikaanos various hunting locations will now have individual respawn checkers based on difficulty and current Prosperity.

  • Normal or Sandbox difficulties: 100% respawn chance (unchanged).
  • Grimdark Difficulty: 80% respawn chance.
  • Ikaanos Prosperity is below 15: -20% respawn chance (all difficulties).

Fort Stokke expanded

Fort Stokke now offers four additional groups (eight in total) that'll add more diversity to this location.

Two of these new groups offer a good challenge for early/mid game playthroughs while the other two are more geared toward mid/late game parties, with boss groups carrying coilguns and plasma rifles.

New quest: The Indentured Sister (Headkiller's chapter II)

If you successfully threaten the Headkiller's Crew, you'll hear a rumor about a missing sister to one of the raiders. This will start a small quest related to Abbot Roo.

  • This quest is save game compatible and will auto-start if The Headkillers are still alive.
  • You can restore The Headkiller's Crew through the Home > Debug Menu on older saves if you took them out in an earlier version. This button will be removed in 0843 as it can be easily exploited. Setting "disp_hk = 1" in the console will however have the same effect in future versions.
  • This quest features a scripted Story NPC (Av47) featuring 44 completed renders. She also comes with a unique background story and a special Hope and Dreams effect.

New quest: The Lost Squadron (Tier request)

Reaching Amiable+ with The Space Marine (Samuel Spartan) now unlocks a medium-sized quest that involves tracking down his old squad "The Spartan Company".

New Story NPC: Reece Sharpe

A paragon male NPC that unlocks after completing The Lost Squadron.

R-55 Revolver

There's now a new weapon available at Imperial Arms (and as loot from certain enemies).

  • Damage is similar to a Coilgun at close range.
  • Comes with a chance modifier (at close range).
  • Falls under the Pistoleer trait for the MC and NPCs.
  • Has a unique sound effect.

New location (tavern): Hunter's Oasis (Hamah Bay)

The tavern at Hamah bay is now open for customers who can enjoy drinks and "today's deal" - a randomly generated trade offer that could involve anything from tobacco to rifles.

Disposition background modifiers

The MC can now unlock an NPC's background through other ways than *just* Affection.

Even if Affection is still the most important attribute in the new "Disposition" framework; Respect, Fear and (low) WILLPOWER play a noticeable role in revealing an NPC's secrets.

Hover over the Disposition link when asking about an NPC's background to view his or her current Disposition modifiers.

NPC Menu scenes

Upon entering the NPC Menu, there's now a chance one of your NPCs will appear in the new courtyard scenes - as long as she is actually in your household, Health is 1+ and she's not bonded/jailed.

MC Beauty and Charisma

In order to make things more consistent between the MC and NPCs, the current Charm/Attractive trait frameworks (for the MC) have been overhauled by adding two new attributes to the MC (BEAUTY and CHARISMA).

  • At Character Creation, The MC's Base BEAUTY is 35. It can be increased up 90 by the use of Creation Points (natural BEAUTY cap).
  • The Attractive trait sets the the natural BEAUTY cap to 120. The BEAUTY attribute cannot be increased above 90 in the CCP, however.
  • BEAUTY can be increased in game through cosmetic surgery at Doctor's Hall (up to the natural cap).
  • Charm has been renamed to CHARISMA but functions just as Charm did before, playing a heavy roll in Charm attempts during interactions.
  • CHARISMA can be increased to 130 (just like other Attributes) through rolls, special events and courses.

The MC's BEAUTY now work like an extra bonus/penalty checker for various sexual, seduction and general interaction rolls. It also enables me to add more unique dialogues tied directly to the MC's appearance instead of the hard-to-define Charm *skill* and Attractive trait. An ugly MC can also instill his subjects with Fear - opening up additional RPing doors for players.

Old saves are auto-converted as follows:

  • Charm skill = CHARISMA.
  • BEAUTY = Charm skill (up to defined caps, 90/120, based on if the MC has the Attractive Trait or not).

Art

  • Added 281 wardrobe pics (Av167-Av199, overhauled Av135, A178, Av197).
  • Added 35 bathroom scenes (Rebecca, Juno, Michelle, Aria, Mai-Lynn).
  • Added 16 wardrobe pics for new randie archives (Av183-).
  • Added 22 inspect pics for Stormchild and Miss Winton.
  • Added 44 sex scenes (Av101-Av104).
  • Added 11 sex scenes for Av47 (Evelyn Whitlock).
  • Added Av136's and Av218's missing maid wardrobe pics.
  • Added Aiko's missing combat weave wardrobe pic.
  • Added The Valkyria's missing plugged wardrobe pic.
  • Added Av110's missing holiday outfit.
  • Added pregnancy wardrobe renders for Av106-Av114.
  • Added dinner scenes for Loden, Black Guard, Ayden, Doyle, Rifle Savant, Dexter and Felix.
  • Replaced Averil's and Aria's inspect pics (22 new renders).

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a critical bug that would load an undefined NPC into the Party engine if she is assigned at the stables.
  • Fixed a critical bug that would cause undefined political events to execute while staying over night in a tavern.
  • Fixed a critical bug that wouldn't properly unset combat ID slots (= the $crew variable) when using the Clear All Followers button. This could potentially execute various setters that increased ticket prices and display undefined Followers in some situations.
  • Fixed a market exploit that allowed you to purchase gold and then immediately sell it for profit.
  • Fixed a bug that would produce a red error during single dinner events.
  • Fixed a bug that would display blank interactions with scripted NPCs during single dinner events.
  • Fixed a wrongly scaled dinner pic for Stacey McClung.
  • Fixed an empty journal glitch during Stacey's relic investigations.
  • Processing female captives will now take 18 minutes (same as male captives).
  • Your household can no longer be attacked by raiders if you're not at home.
  • Fixed a male pronoun bug in the combat scolding event.
  • Fixed an economy calculation error that wouldn't display the correct amount of tax deducted from external factory slots.
  • Fixed a body inherit bug in the offspring engine that would check for an undefined MC STRENGTH attribute.
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't take the +10 skill boost to Tavern Workers with Beauty 80+ into account.
  • Fixed a bug that would produce household raids at Control 40+ and on Sandbox playthroughs.
  • Fixed a bug that made the Seal of Virtue bonus inactive for Abbey attending NPCs.
  • Fixed an erroneous post-sex checker for some NPCs that have sex scenes in the office.
  • Fixed an undefined _lastname variable entry in Stacey McClung's Relic Hunter framework.
  • Fixed Averil's arena scenes from not showing up (changed png to jpg).
  • Fixed an erroneous display checker that wouldn't update the MC's Taskmaster trait bonus during homeschooling sessions. (0842b)
  • Fixed a script issue that would cause a red error in the Relic Hunter popup pane. (0842b)
  • Fixed a pic display error that wouldn't activate makeout scenes for Tori and Stacey. (0842b)
  • Fixed some ghost business bonuses from the 0.8.2 version of Rebecca's Skulduggery trait. (0842b)
  • Fixed a bug that would enable Honorary Titles at the old court house (Palace District) if you sold Aria to Kymanto. (0842b)
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't allow you to unassign Morning BJ girls from their chore if they reached the "Refuse" state *after* being assigned.
  • Fixed a Sibling trait Affection error that would check for Soulmate instead of Loving to increase the other sibling's Affection.
  • Fixed a bug that would set Seve's sex scenes to the bedroom when they in fact took place in the living room.
  • Aria now starts with the Unbreakable trait again.
  • The Aimee store Merchandise upgrade (lvl 3+) will now display the correct store interior scene.
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't increase the Starlet Trait during a special birthday dinner event (Golden Dragon).
  • Fixed a misspelled variable that wouldn't remove the Feminist Trait if applying NeuraClean to an NPC.
  • Rearranged several scripts within the pool party framework to keep full cost pool parties from executing for the MC only ("too late!").
  • Fixed a World Position bug when traveling to the Red River Basin using the [Home] fast travel button.
  • Fixed an Influence checker that would block you from fast travelling to Crystal Island if your Influence was exactly 1,500.
  • Added enemy armor Soak checkers that to keep their Soak values from reaching a negative value.
  • Fixed a missing ammo checker for the Minigun (NPCs only).
  • Fixed several typos.
